Drumroll please....

A nice profile shot

a head on shot (a little scary)
The last two weeks have been a little more eventful (in a good way) than we thought. My good friend Matt got engaged to his girlfriend Abby. The engagement story fits him exactly as it should. We were able to celebrate with them and a few other friends with dinner at a Japanese steakhouse. Also, Scott and Sara had a beautiful baby boy this past weekend. I can't wait to meet him in person, and talk to him about his friend who will be arriving in a few months. I also developed two corneal abrasions in my right eye. Which has required a week of antibiotic eye drops followed by a few days of saline drops to help flush out my eye which apparently decided to develop a chemical toxicity to the antibiotic drops. I've been in glasses for two weeks which drives me crazy, but hopefully, this weekend I can start wearing my contacts again. Matt's looking forward to a bachelor party in French Lick this weekend, and I have some good friends from college coming to town. We haven't all been together since my wedding so I can't wait to see them and get some "girl" time. Here's an updated belly shot...

16 weeks and updates!
The belly is definitely starting to grow. At my doctor's appointment everything looked good. The baby appears to be growing, and its HR was around 160 bpm. It was a lot louder this time, sounded like a horse galloping in my stomach. We also made our ultrasound appointment, and I only had to wait for 3 weeks so I'll be 20 weeks.
To update everyone on Matt's and my NCAA brackets. I made a run at the end to finish 5th out of 13 and finished just behind Matt who was 4th. We also were able to go see Butler play in the Final Four and Championship, Matt on Saturday and me on Monday. It was disappointing, but we enjoyed it.
We also got to spend some time with family over the Easter weekend. Willie and Dea came up on Friday. We went to dinner and a comedy club. It was great to see them, and we were finally able to give Willie his Christmas present. Also, my grandma and aunt were here visiting my parents for the weekend. We were able to celebrate my mom's and my birthday and Easter together. We're looking forward to the annual Pacer game this weekend, but it won't be quite as exciting for me as I've been nominated as the DD. Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter!!

Questions???
When is baby K due?
Our due date is September 13, 2010. Looking forward to a third trimester during the Indiana summer ;)
Will you find out?
Yes, we hope to find out what we're having. It's a few weeks away though at the 21 week doctor's appointment. Matt is hoping for a boy so he influences me in that direction, but really we both just want a healthy baby (It's the peds nurse in me.)
This question brings us to the blog title. Ever since Matt and I have been together, Matt has been referring to our future son as "Cadillac", followed closely by Troxler & McGillicuddy. So when I asked Matt what our title should be it seemed fitting to choose "Cadillac Chronicles". Don't worry, Cadillac is not in the running for the baby's legal name.
Have you thought about the nursery?
Not really. Since we're finding out, we'll wait until after to really start looking. Also, the baby will more than likely share our room for awhile as the two other bedrooms are upstairs.
How has Gigi been feeling?
I can't complain really. I was pretty nauseous from 7 weeks until about 12 1/2 weeks. I never got sick just didn't feel great. I could keep it mostly under control by eating small portions several times a day. Now at almost 14 weeks, I'm feeling a lot better, but if I over eat (which I have a hard time not doing) I feel pretty lousy afterwards. I'm pretty sure the heartburn is on its way as well.
I had another OB appointment this past week. My uterus is growing, and you can now hear the heartbeat with a doppler on my stomach. Everything looks good, last heartbeat 162 bpm.
I'll try to keep this blog updated for all of you who would like to follow. It will probably be a little boring for a couple more months as not much is happening, and I only see the doctor once a month. Enjoy!

8 weeks!

Our first official doctor's appointment. More pictures of the little one, still measuring on track with a heartbeat of 180 bpm. I wasn't sure Matt was going to make it through; we were there for over two hours (Ultrasound, OB nurse, then doctor). We got to hear all about what to expect for the next 7 months, a little overwhelming, but very exciting!! I'm still waiting for this to feel real, but I'm sure it will happen soon enough ;)
