We headed to Orlando last Saturday morning. It was my first time on a plane without Dramamine in probably 15 years. Of course the first flight had so much turbulence that no one was allowed out of their seats, including the flight attendants, the entire time. Needless to say, I needed to pee before we took off and felt like I was going to get sick about 20 minutes into the 90 minute flight. Luckily, I made it through, and the next flight was much better. Otherwise, Matt would have enjoyed his first experience with my motion sickness on a plane like my mom did for many years.
My parents let us use one of their time share weeks at the Grande Vista Marriott Resort. We spent Saturday through Tuesday hanging out at the pool and checking out the "hot spots" as Matt would say. On Monday, Matt and I went golfing. I wasn't sure how I would do, but I was able to play 9 holes pretty easily. I think Matt was impressed with my 6 month pregnant skills. I shot a 48, but it was a short par 3/4 course. It was a great couple of days spending time just the two of us. I even cried when he had to leave Tuesday (pregnancy hormones ;))

On Tuesday afternoon, my mom made it after being delayed in Indy almost 2 hours with mechanical problems. On Wednesday, we headed to the Palm Coast and Cinnamon Beach to meet up with the McIntosh's (Keven, Laura, and Bella). They happened to be vacationing at the same time. It was one of the best days for getting a tan for me. The temperature was in the low 80s with a constant breeze. I was able to spend most of the day in the sun because in Orlando, I wasn't tolerating the heat very well. I spent a lot of time in the shade and under the umbrella

I must also tell a funny story about eating out while on vacation. Matt and I had called the concierge on the first night we were there for a suggestion on a good fish restaurant. Matt asked the price range, and the concierge said $15-20. Well, when we got there, it was a little pricier than expected, but we did really enjoy our food. Well, when my mom got there, we called the concierge again for a suggestion on an Italian restaurant, thinking of pasta, salads, and tiramisu. Apparently, the concierges aren't that familiar with the restaurants in the area. They suggested a place called "Vito's", which sounded pretty Italian. Well, turns out the restaurant was a higher-end steak house (with and Italian undertone). The menu had a few pasta dishes, but mostly steak and veal options. Mom and I enjoyed ourselves and overindulged a little since she said my Dad was paying ;). We also left with two bags of leftovers which we ate for lunch for the rest of the week. We spent time at the pool and ended the week with a quick trip to an outlet mall. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Thanks for coming down mom, it was just what I needed!!!
My mom and I got back Saturday afternoon with just a minor delay. Matt and I headed to the Taylor's after dropping her off. They were having a summer BBQ. The usual suspects were there, and I got to spend some quality baby time with Mary & JJ, baby K's future friends. It is always great to see everyone!! Today, Matt and I went and finally got registered for shower gifts so I can finally mark that off the "to-do list". Next update coming after my 28 week appointment, glucose tolerance test and ultrasound.
