24 weeks!!

I thought I’d show you another angle with the pictures this week, a front view. I seem to be growing a little every day. At my doctor’s appointment, I got measured for the first time, right on track. Baby K’s heartbeat was around 160. I can tell he is getting bigger and stronger, his kicks/punches/flips move my whole belly now. He still prefers hanging out in my pelvis and jumping on my bladder though so it makes it hard to feel him on the outside all the time. At my next appointment (28 weeks), they will do an ultrasound to check on the placenta, and I’ll get to enjoy a sweet drink for my glucose tolerance test. I’ll be there for over an hour probably. Keep your fingers crossed that my pancreas works well, and I don’t have to return for the fun diabetes screen.

Race Weekend is fast approaching so we’ll be at the party house (the Krodel parents) all weekend for the Indy 500. Unfortunately, my OB doesn’t think I will be able to tolerate the heat (or drunks) this year so I won’t be able to attend, but on the flip side, I’ll get quality time with my mom, grandma, and aunt. Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!!

The next update will come to you from sunny Florida!! Matt and I are going on our “Babymoon”. We’ll be headed to Orlando next Saturday. Matt can only stay until Tuesday because of work so my mom volunteered to come spend the rest of the week with me. Yes, I know I'm spoiled. ;) We’re so looking forward to time off work with each other. We’re hoping to do a whole lot of nothing while we’re there.

P & Monica's Wedding

One of the best men in his ensemble.

We had a great time at P and Monica’s wedding! It took place in a traditional Catholic Chapel. A small church with stained glass windows, and the altar against the back wall in the front. The women still keep their shoulders and heads covered, and the priest says the mass in Latin wih his back to the congregation.

Following the ceremony, we headed to the reception. It was so nice to see our friends from Jasper. I was able to spend time with Audrey who is expecting as well and due only 12 days before us. We were alble to talk about all those things only pregnant women can appreciate. Her husband, Zach, and Matt were roommates in Jasper, and we both got engaged around Christmas in 2008 and were married only a couple weeks apart. Apparently, we like to go through major life changes together. We also got to spend some time with the Dilger’s and their little boy Isaiah. He is so cute and quite the dancer. He is a very active little boy, another glimpse into our near future.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!! Wishing you many years of health and happiness!!

22 weeks!

22 week belly
As you can probably see, baby K has made his presence known. I woke up Monday morning and thought to myself what happened overnight! My mom and I started the baby browsing last Friday. It was definitely a long day checking out options at 3 different baby stores, but I think we have found a crib with furniture. Now, we just have to get it ordered. We also traveled to Cincinnati with my parents for a Cubs game. It was a little chilly, but luckily we had dressed for the weather so we stayed pretty warm during the game. Matt and I also go to spend the night with the Robinson's and were well entertained by Crosley Sunday morning. He gave us a little taste of what we have to look forward to!
This weekend is Matt's BF P's wedding. I'm looking forward to seeing the Jasper crowd since we really haven't seen everyone since Christmastime. I'll try to post some pictures of Matt and I dressed up. I hope all you mom's out there had a great Mother's Day! It definitely held a little different meaning for me with this little one doing flips and kicking inside me all day.
