39 weeks
So as you can see, baby K has decided he's not quite ready to meet us...At my doctor's appointment today, not much had changed. My cervix was very soft and 2-3cm dilated. Baby K is still doing well, growing, moving like crazy, and a strong heartbeat. The doctor keeps telling me any day, but he can't tell me when exactly. Because I am having some TMI issues, he did say if I reach my breaking point this weekend, since he's on call he would consider inducing me. I've decided I really don't want to be induced so I've told myself to suck it up and just wait for it to happen. We'll see if I can make it...

38 week update
Just a quick update because I'm running behind on my posts...Last Tuesday my doctor's appointment went really well. My cervix was 75% effaced, and I had dilated to 2cm. My doctor wouldn't make any promises, but didn't think I would make it to my due date. I did have a little glucose in my urine (an abnormal result), but it was determined that it was probably due to the Frosted Flakes and juice I had for breakfast right before the appointment.
Matt and I did have an eventful weekend. We were able to make it to the Richard's wedding. Phil graduated from high school with me and lived with Matt during college. Another example of how small the world is, especially in our lives. They actually got married 4 years ago because they are both in the service, and they finally got around to a church wedding and a reception to celebrate with all their friends. It was so nice to spend time with friends we don't get to see very often. I also thought for sure that I was maybe going into labor on Saturday. I was contracting very regularly from about 4pm until midnight, but baby K showed me he's in charge in that department as I had almost no contractions on Sunday. Monday, Matt was able to get in a round of golf at Coffin. He shot a personal best 77! We rounded out the weekend with a labor day dinner at my parents.
Below is probably the only "pregnancy" picture Matt and I will take before the little man shows up. It was taken on the rooftop from the wedding Saturday. Enjoy!!

Any day now !?!?!
I'm officially full term!! The little man could be here any day. The belly is still growing but is slowing down its pace. At the doctor's last Tuesday, they checked my cervix for the first time. Not a whole lot going on... It was still high, softening a little, but no dilation yet. I've been pretty uncomfortable this past weekend. Up to my appointment, I hadn't really noticed many contractions, but that has definitely changed. I worked Thursday night, and started having contractions early in the morning for the last hour or two. They were about 12-15 minutes apart, and becoming a little painful. They lasted most of the morning and didn't stop until I woke up, ate lunch, and got moving for the day. I've been having contractions on and off this weekend, but nothing consistent. I'll find out Tuesday (my next Dr's appointment) if they have made any progress.

34 weeks and the Nursery (x2)!
Matt and I have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks getting everything ready for baby K's arrival. We are finally ready and just anxiously waiting. Here are a couple pictures of his nursery upstairs, and his crib in our bedroom.
A preview of his crib location once he moves upstairs
The view from the door
The nursey still needs a few finishing touches like blinds, curtains, and wall decorations. We will have time to finalize the room once he's here.
The crib and ottoman in the master bedroom
We had to completely rearrange our bedroom furniture to get things to fit. I now have a nice little obstacle course to get through with my frequent overnight bathroom trips. You can also see all the bags that have been packed for the hospital. I'm pretty sure they're going to think we are moving in!

Baby shower extravaganza!!
A couple weeks ago we had our first shower down in Jasper thrown by Matt's mom, Medea. It was so much fun to start getting all those essentials we are going to need for Baby K's arrival. Also, Medea had everyone bring a book to the shower as their card. We now have quite the collection of books inscribed by family and friends. I'm sure we'll be reading all of them over and over again some day soon. Thanks Medea for the wonderful shower!!
The beautiful cupcakes at the shower
This past Saturday was my family/friends shower thrown by my mom. It was held at my dad's K of C club in town. My dad served as bartender and was exposed to his first baby shower experience. I think he enjoyed himself ;). We also played a game to help Matt and I with ideas for a middle name. Now, everyone will have to wait to see if we took their suggestions or not. Family from both ends of the state made the trip down and enjoyed the wonderful food and dessert. The surprise gift was a crochet blanket from my mom who hasn't crocheted in almost 30 years. Thanks for all your hard work mom, it was an amazing shower! Also, thanks to Rachel, Trisha, Brooke, and Krista for helping set-up as well!

On Sunday, my work friends threw another shower for me. It is so nice to see everyone outside of work and in regular clothes. It was thrown by Emily and Lacey, and they did a wonderful job. We had a Mexican buffet for dinner, and it was delicious!! Baby K got lots of great things, and I've enjoyed coming home with more gifts each day I worked this week.

32/33 week update!
So I've been running behind on my posts and pictures, as you can see the belly is definitely growing. The tank is barely covering these days, and the belly button is poking out already. At the 32 week Dr's appointment, baby K was still behaving himself. His head was down, HR in the 140's, and measuring right on track. Next post will wrap up all the baby shower's we've had, and the reason we've been so busy.

30-31 week update
We had a great 4th of July weekend. We spent Saturday at the Krodel cabin where we enjoyed a great day that concluded with a beautiful fireworks show provided by the girls in the family. It was a day that reminded us of our childhood. As my Uncle Tom would say, "This is the life, good beer, good food, good family..." On Sunday, we headed to the Kluemper get together. It was a hot day, but we were able to stay cool in the shade. Matt also played in the corn hole tournament, and we were able to visit with Grandma Kluemper. On our way out of town, we were able to stop at the Oeding's to see my cousin Andy who lives in Minnesota, and his baby boy TJ. He is so big already, and looks just like his dad. It was so nice to spend a holiday weekend with family!
I had my 30 week doctor's appointment last week. Baby K is still behaving himself. My belly was measuring 31 weeks, he still has his head down, and his heart rate was around 142bpm. He continues to be a very active little boy and enjoys flipping his legs and butt all over.

This past weekend was the "Klinker Klassic". It is my grandma's family get together in Lafayette. We play a golf scramble, and then meet up for dinner. I've been playing in the scramble since it started, and I wasn't going to miss it this year. Matt, my dad, brother and I made up a team. I was still able to drive, chip, and putt. Under close supervision from my dad, the team used me as a back up, so they used a couple of my drives, and I was able to sink 2 putts for birdie. It was a lot of fun even though we didn't win anything this year.
Matt and I also started painting the nursery on Sunday. It is still a work in progress so look forward to pictures coming soon. We are headed to Jasper this weekend for my first baby shower hosted by Matt's mom. Can't wait to see all the goodies for baby K!!
And finally because everyone needs a little humor in life. While I was focusing the camera for Matt to take the belly shot this week. He decided to stand in, and I couldn't help but take a picture of Matt's 30 week belly. Enjoy!!
